"I found myself stuck at my third job less than two years from graduating dental school. I was wondering if dentistry was a mistake and if I could ever be happy with my career. Due to my lack of motivation, amongst other factors, I was let go from that job and was distraught. I was unsure, unconfident, and depressed. Parents, friends, my boyfriend: they were all outside the dental and healthcare world and, while they tried, they could not fully understand what I was going through.
I made an appointment with Karen and Laura and in hopes to ignite a spark in me that I had not felt in a long time. They helped center my wants and needs in dentistry, and what I was looking for in a new opportunity. They led me through an exercise of narrowing down my most important values. I was able to share those values at my next interview at a private office- and I got hired! Understanding what was important to me guided me to a job I love, rather than just taking whatever next opportunity presented itself. They helped me realize what I was lacking in my previous positions.
I am very thankful for the advice and expertise I received from the ladies of The Mint Door. They helped me get back on track and remember why I got into the dental field in the first place. They continue to check in with me to this day, and I am very appreciative."
